Almost all cylindrical rechargeable batteries may be used with the Nitecore D2, a universal smart charger that removes the need for multiple chargers. Li-ion, Ni-MH, and Ni-Cd batteries are automatically detected by the D2, and LiFePO4 batteries may be charged manually. The D2’s two microcomputer-controlled charging slots each monitor and charge the battery separately after intelligent charging circuitry determines the best charging mode (CC, CV, and dV/dt) for a particular battery. Furthermore, a clever automated power-off feature cuts off current when charging is finished, and an integrated digital LCD panel clearly shows charging status, voltage, current, and time.
