Description
Vaporesso Luxe XR Max 2 80W Pod Mod Kit
The Vaporesso Luxe XR Max 2 is the second-generation 80W pod mod in the Luxe X family, made for sub-ohm clouds without a full box mod. It uses the AXON chipset with Pulse and Eco modes, takes the full GTX coil range, and refills through a 2ml TPD top-fill pod.
Sitting at the top of the Vaporesso Luxe range, the Max 2 steps up from the original Luxe XR Max with a 3200mAh battery, a 0.96″ TFT colour screen and refined airflow. For a full breakdown of the two, see our Luxe XR Max 2 vs Luxe XR Max comparison.
Twelve finishes span matte (Black, Red, Blue, Silver), gradient (Storm Blue, Flowing Purple, Cloud Pink, Fog Gold) and leather-wrap (Imperial Red, Dark Black, Gray, Mocha).

3200mAh Mega Battery for All-Day Vaping
Battery life is the headline upgrade. The Luxe XR Max 2 carries a 3200mAh integrated battery, up from 2800mAh on the original Luxe XR Max.
A 14% jump without adding bulk, and around 28% more than the typical 2500mAh seen on rival 80W pod mods. In real-world use that’s up to two days of moderate MTL vaping at 12-15W.
Or a solid day of DTL clouds at 50-60W on the 0.2Ω coil, between charges.
Recharging is via the 3A USB-C port on the base. From flat to full takes around 45 minutes on a quick-charge plug, with battery-level shown live on the TFT screen. Pass-through vaping works while it charges, so there’s no downtime if the battery taps out mid-shift.
AXON Pulse Mode and Eco Mode Explained
The Luxe XR Max 2 uses Vaporesso’s AXON chipset with two distinct vape modes. Pulse Mode pushes short, repeated power bursts through the coil instead of one flat output.
That keeps the cotton evenly saturated and slows down flavour degradation across a refill pack. The result is that the last few puffs of a 2ml top-up taste close to the first.
Eco Mode tapers wattage gradually as battery drops, stretching the day-to-day mAh further without an obvious change in draw.
Three quick clicks of the fire button toggles between wattage steps. Two clicks opens the settings menu, and a five-click sequence locks the screen so it can’t fire in a pocket or bag.
Dual Mesh Pods for Sub-Ohm and MTL Vaping
The Max 2 comes with two GTX coils pre-installed in their pods. The 0.2Ω Dual Mesh coil sits in the DTL pod for sub-ohm clouds in the 40-60W range, ideal pairing with a shortfill e-liquid in 70VG or higher. The 0.8Ω regular mesh coil drops into the MTL pod for tighter draws at 12-18W, suited to nicotine salts and 50/50 freebase liquids.
Dual mesh sits as a two-layer heating element rather than a single wrapped mesh strip. Vaporesso quotes around 25% better aroma reproduction and around 30% longer coil life over standard single-mesh GTX coils. This holds up in day-to-day use, flavour stays consistent for longer before the wick starts to dry.
Adjustable Airflow from MTL to DTL
A knurled airflow ring at the base of the pod opens or closes in fine increments. Closed down to a sliver, the draw mimics a cigarette pull for nicotine salt MTL vaping.
Half-open delivers a restricted DTL hit that sits between mouth-to-lung and full direct-to-lung. Wide open, paired with the 0.2Ω coil, produces full sub-ohm DTL clouds for higher-VG juice.
One device covers the full inhale range, which keeps the kit relevant whether the user is stepping down from disposables on nic salts or scaling up to shortfills.
0.96″ TFT Display and RGB Lighting
The 0.96-inch TFT colour screen shows battery percentage, current wattage, coil resistance, vape mode and puff counter at a glance. Three interface themes, Nebula, Vital and Wave, can be cycled through, with subtle RGB lighting effects on the chassis reacting to draws.
It’s a bigger and clearer screen than the original Luxe XR Max. This only ran a monochrome readout, and it makes wattage adjustment quicker than fiddling through a menu.
Older Pod Cross-Fit Compatibility
The Luxe XR Max 2 takes any Vaporesso GTX coil from 0.15Ω up to 1.2Ω. That’s the same coil range used by the Vaporesso GTX One Pro, Armour S and earlier Luxe XR models.
It also accepts ready-made Luxe X Dual Mesh pods with COREX 2.0 leak-resistant tech. The result is that a Luxe X3 user can drop their existing pods straight into a Max 2 chassis without rebuying.
Empty refillable Luxe XR pods and the matching GTX replacement coils are stocked separately. The 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω coils suit MTL nicotine salt vaping, while the 0.2Ω and 0.3Ω Dual Mesh options handle higher-VG shortfills at sub-ohm wattages.
